About

We ask which market you sell into before we quote the wax.

Customized Crayons makes classic wrapped barrels, chunky toddler formats, printed menu sleeves, moulded novelty shapes, retail boxed sets and standing programme runs.

Custom printed crayons with logo

A crayon is handed to a two-year-old, held in a fist, pressed hard, and very often put in a mouth.

That makes the safety paperwork the product rather than an afterthought — and it makes the wax blend, not luck, the reason some crayons colour brightly and others leave a pale scratch.

Everything else in this category is packing: what goes in the sleeve, how many sleeves in a carton, and how they reach the table.

Why we exist

Crayons are bought on price per pack and judged on whether the colour comes off and whether they snap.

Both of those are settled in the blend months before anybody opens a box, and almost nobody quotes them.

The paperwork is the product

Every run is supplied against the children’s art-material safety standard required in the market it ships to, with the conformance statement printed on the pack.

We ask which territory before quoting, because the requirement differs — and we will not make a blanket claim that covers every market, because no honest supplier can.

Thick is a safety decision

A young child holds a crayon in a whole fist and applies force through a short lever. A standard barrel snaps under that, and a snapped tip is a small part.

Jumbo, egg and palm formats resist it — and they refuse to roll off the table, which parents notice immediately.

The blend decides the colour

Laydown is how much pigment transfers per stroke. A hard, filler-heavy crayon drags and marks palely however hard it is pressed.

So laydown and break resistance go on the specification, where a buyer can compare two quotes on something real.

Most crayons are a consumable

The biggest volumes in this category are two- and four-packs on a kids’ menu, used for one meal and binned.

Specifying that honestly saves real money. Buying it as a keepsake — heavy packs, gift finishes, boxed presentation — multiplies the cost of something that leaves with the placemat.

When it really is a gift, build it like one

Museum shop lines, party favours, hotel family packs: full colour ranges, a printed tuck box or tin, and internal fitment so it does not arrive rattling.

That is the one place in this category where presentation pays back.

Moulded shapes lose the wrap

A cast crayon has no paper sleeve, so the printed surface disappears and branding moves to the box.

We say that before the tooling is cut, and we review the geometry for thin projections that will snap in a hand.

What we will talk you out of

A tin for a giveaway. A standard barrel for a toddler room. A blanket safety claim. Gold-plating a menu pack. And pencils, markers or paints — none of which we make.

Each refusal costs an order occasionally and costs trust never.
